Lock downs and lock ups
Lock down and lock up are now in the news, everyday, for totally different and undesirable reasons.
Both lock downs and lock ups are irritants as they restrict our physical movements. But can they stop our minds from roaming?
Mind loves to roam in the wonderlands and scatter the energy around.
Positive and negative thoughts, thoughts of past and future, aimless or creative thoughts.. They keep multiplying on the fertile soil of the mind, thereby creating a leakage of energy.
Don't We feel drained out at times even without any physical activity.
Sure, one will say that positive thoughts, creative thoughts are good so why curtail them.
Yes. They are good, if they lead to action. And once their purpose is served, should be over with.
Aimless thoughts don't grow fertile crops.
A lockdown of mind is needed
It should become a habit for the mind to stay at one place.
Meditation gives that.
As one meditates, roaming is curtailed, thoughts reduce, aura becomes stronger, immunity increases, good hormones and feel good factors increase so does positive attitude and creativity. Yes not replacement of negative thoughts but a change in attitude.
Meditation also brings awareness of the many lockdowns and lock ups inside us.
There are limiting factors within us, preventing us from giving our optimal performance on the life's stage.
With meditation we start understanding the locked up emotions, behavioral patterns and reasons behind our own likes and dislikes.
On one hand meditation teaches the mind to stay within, as in a lock down, on the other hand, it makes us aware of our own internal lock ups which need to be addressed and freed.
Then there is no imposed lockdown or forced lockup.
Then there is true freedom.
